A candidate seeking the District 1 seat on the DeKalb County commission has filed a temporary protective order against a freelance reporter, the reporter says.
Tom Owens, one of five candidates seeking the seat vacated by the resignation of former commissioner Elaine Boyer, sought the order barring blogger George Chidi from “stalking, harassing or intimidating” Owens or members of his family.
In his Oct. 6 blog, Chidi writes that after he published a “lengthy and difficult story” about Owens, the candidate sought the order.
