Bagpipers and fire department brass will gather at Sandy Springs City Hall today, Oct. 21, for the official changing of fire chiefs.

The change of command ceremony is expected to last about 20 minutes and will include speeches and the formal passing of the chief’s helmet from the fire rescue department’s outgoing chief, Jack McElfish, to its new chief, Keith Sanders.

The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. at Sandy Springs City Hall, 7840 Roswell Road, building 500.
