Less than 24 hours after artists and residents of Cabbagetown and Reynoldstown painted over the graffiti in the Krog Street Tunnel, many of the walls had already been tagged or spray painted with new art. Those who painted over the graffiti did so in protest of this weekend’s Krog Masquerade party, a Halloween party being hosted by the for-profit Atlanta Foundation for Public Spaces. During yesterday’s afternoon rush hour, the smell of paint filled the tunnel and people were actively painting and tagging the walls, as seen in the photos above.
A federal agent was carjacked in the Old Fourth Ward on Wednesday, according to a report at Fox 5. The incident happened around 4:30 p.m. when the woman was heading to the gym. The agent tried to fight back, but one of the suspects fired a gun into the air.
The Atlanta City Council has approved a resolution calling for the establishment of Capital City of Atlanta Day. The measure was sponsored by Councilmember Michael Bond. During Capital City Day, the City of Atlanta will welcome state legislators to Georgia’s capital city the first week of the legislative session – January 2015 – to promote Atlanta’s legislative concerns and to foster positive relationships between the city and the state of Georgia.
