King of North, a skateboarding competition and slide jam, will be held Nov. 2 from noon to 7 p.m. to in front of the Masquerade on North Avenue, with proceeds benefitting nonprofits Barefoot Gypsy and Lost-N-Found Youth.

North Avenue will be closed for the event, and 500 participants and attendees are expected. The event is all ages and family friendly.  Skater registration is now open and will close Sunday, Nov. 2, at 1 p.m. The event is open to spectators for a small entrance fee of $5.

Along with the skating, there will be a live music show hosted by WRAS inside Masquerade, an art festival and food trucks.

Barefoot Gypsy aids victims of catastrophic events all over the world, while Lost-N-Found Youth helps homeless LGBT youth.
