Brookhaven’s Parks & Recreation department is hosting its annual Fall Festival this Saturday, Nov.1, at Lynwood Park from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. This year’s festival will include pumpkin carving, a mummy race, lunch and face painting amongst other fall activities. All members of the community are invited to attend and children are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes.
“This year’s festival will be a lot of fun for all. We have some great activities planned and look forward to seeing the kids in their costumes,” said Jerry Kinsey, Parks and Recreation Director.
Candy donations are also accepted for Operation Gratitude, a non-profit, volunteer-based organization that annually sends 100,000 care packages filled with snacks, entertainment items and personal letters of appreciation addressed to individually named U.S. service members deployed in hostile regions, to their children left behind and to veterans, first responders, wounded warriors and their care givers.
