Brookhaven police arrested on Nov. 7 Ato Swinger, 39, of Hapeville, in connection with a burglary.

The Brookhaven Police Department arrested a Hapeville man in connection with the Oct. 20, 2014 burglary at the Windsor Communities Apartments located at 305 Brookhaven Avenue NE in Brookhaven.

Police said they identified and arrested Ato Swinger, 39, on Nov. 7, after receiving many calls and tips through Crime Stoppers.

“The initial tip provided one of Swinger’s aliases, Antwan Swinger, but a closer look and great detective work led to the real identity of Mr. Swinger,” police said in a press release.
Detectives were able to positively identify the suspect in the surveillance video, and the picture on file with the Georgia Department of Driver Services. Swinger was wearing the same jacket with the letter M in both pictures, which detective noticed in comparisons.

Police are still seeking the man seen in surveillance video carrying a bug sprayer can, and wearing a tan shirt and pants, with a white undershirt. He wore gloves and a brown toboggan and an orange-billed baseball hat.
