The city of Brookhaven voted on Nov. 20 to defer voting on annexing the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and Executive Park properties as the city and property representatives finalize agreements on service payments.

The two entities, located south of I-85, asked in October to become part of the city and have agreed to pay for additional police and a code enforcement officer for the area. Representatives of the properties have said they will pay for the services until the area is redeveloped and can bring in taxes to cover the costs. An agreement on payments is expected to be finalized Monday, when the council will vote on the annexation at 6 p.m. at a special called meeting.
