Following this weekend’s roadwork, the Georgia DOT will suspend construction-related lane closures for the Christmas and New Year’s holiday weekends:

According to a press release from the agency, there will be no closures on interstates, major state routes or roadways near major shopping districts between 5 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23, and 10 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 28; and 5 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 31, until 5 a.m., Friday, Jan. 2.

On 400 this weekend motorists can expect one northbound lane and shoulder to be closed between Peachtree Road and Old Ivey Road continuously from 9 p.m., Friday, until 5 a.m., Monday; and one southbound lane between I-285 and the Glenridge Connector to be closed from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday for fiber optic cable installation.
