A decision whether to bring Google fiber, an ultra-high speed Internet service to Atlanta and eight other metro cities, including Sandy Springs and Brookhaven, has been delayed, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

A decision was expected by the end of 2014, a spokesperson for Google told the AJC that a decision could come in early 2015.

Sandy Springs, Brookhaven, Avondale Estates, College Park, Decatur, East Point, Hapeville, Smyrna and Atlanta all met a May 1 deadline to provide information about infrastructure and construction processes so that Google could understand how the municipalities work with utilities.
