Creative Loafing reports that the Clermont Lounge will be closed for two months starting in June while renovation work begins to renovate the Clermont Hotel above. One of the DJ’s said he is concerned how the employees – including iconic beer-can crushing stripper Blondie – will make ends meet while the famed dive bar and strip joint is closed.

While the battle goes on in Washington to raise the minimum wage, Walmart has stepped up and given pay raises to its 23,275 employees in Georgia. Employees will earn at least $1.75 an hour above the federal minimum wage and $3.85 above the Georgia minimum wage, according to a media release. The new full-time average hourly wage in Georgia is now $13.17 for Walmart workers.
