Brookhaven city officials are looking for volunteers for the city’s inaugural stream cleanup on Saturday, May 2.

Volunteers will clean from 10 a.m. to noon that day at the tributary of West Nancy Creek on the south part of Murphey Candler Lake.  Volunteers should arrive between 9:45 and 10 a.m. at the gravel parking lot just east of the Murphey Candler Football Fields.

Volunteers should wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes and long pants. Sunscreen is recommended.  If possible, bring tools that would be helpful in collecting trash.  The city will provide bags, light gardening gloves and bottled water.
