The Nantahala Outdoor Center is opening two riverside centers on the Chattahoochee River.

A grand opening celebration is set for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 30. The celebration, open to the public, will be held at the Cochran Shoals-Powers Island section of the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area. The park is located at 5450 Interstate N. Parkway, Sandy Springs.

The opening celebration will offer a chance to paddle with  Gold Medal Olympian Joe Jacobi,to see on-the-water demos of stand-up paddleboards and sit-on-top kayaks and to join in family-friendly activities such as face painting and music by Playing on the Planet.
