A man suspected of a June 22 murder on Brentwood Way in Sandy Springs has been arrested in Polk County, Sgt. Ron Momon, a spokesman for Sandy Springs Police Department, said.
Juan Aviilez Dominguez, 29, was considered armed and dangerous and was wanted for the murder of a 31-year-old Sandy Springs man, who was found June 22 shot once in the head. Police said Dominguez told his 13-year-old sister and parents that he killed the victim.
He was apprehended in an abandoned vehicle the morning of June 30. His arrest comes from the work of a combined operation headed up by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office and Cedartown Police, with assistance by U.S. Marshals, Immigration and Customs Enforcement and state parole officers.
The abandoned vehicle was located behind a house at 51 Knight Road in Cedartown, Georgia. Dominguez was taken into custody without incident. He is being held at the Polk County Jail on a murder warrant from the Sandy Springs Police Department. Dominguez was charged in the suspected murder of 31-year-old Antonio Bernabe on June 22 in Sandy Springs.
