The Council of Municipal Court Judges of Georgia has chosen Judge Gary E. Jackson as its president-elect. Jackson will serve a one-year term in this office.
As president-elect, Jackson will also serve on the Judicial Council of Georgia, which establishes the policy and procedures in Georgia’s courts.
Jackson is an associate judge of the Atlanta Municipal Court, having been first appointed to the City Court of Atlanta in 2000, and later to the Municipal Court by Mayor Shirley Franklin in 2005. The native Atlantan graduated from North Atlanta High School, University of Georgia Law School and has served as assistant legislative counsel to the Georgia General Assembly and legal aid to former Lt. Gov. Zell Miller.
