Old belts, backpacks, shoes, socks, scarves, gloves, coats, uniforms and other pieces of outdated clothing can be donated to charity July 31 and Aug. 1 at Lenox Square.

Livable Buckhead and Simon Properties are sponsoring a clothing drive to collect unwanted items so they can be reused. Many will be given to people outside the United States, Livable Buckhead said in a press release. ssssssssCollection tents will be located on the Peachtree Road side of Lenox Square from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. on both days.

“We are very pleased to work with Livable Buckhead by hosting this clothing drive,” Robin Suggs, general manager for Lenox Square/Simon Properties, said in a Livable Buckhead press release promoting the clothing drive.

“This initiative compliments both of our organizations, with Livable Buckhead furthering its goal of improving Buckhead’s environmental sustainability, and Lenox Square  providing shoppers a convenient location to donate as they take advantage of the upcoming sales tax holiday.”

Livable Buckhead said it was working with Charity Recycling Service on the drive would receive a portion of the proceeds raised through it.
