A mixture of Sandy Springs and Dunwoody children, who play baseball out of the Morgan Falls Park, won a state championship for the second year in a row, Christina Weeks said.
The 12U Sandy Springs Storm all-star baseball team won the North Georgia Dizzy Dean State Championship on July 15 and went on to Southaven, Mississippi, to represent north Georgia in the World Series held the last week in July.
“The team made it to the final four, but were unable to bring home the top title,” Weeks said. “Congratulations to the players and coaches for an outstanding season.”
Weeks said this was the last year for these players, many who started at age 5, because they age out of the program at age 12.
