John Ernst Jr., the former chairman of the DeKalb County Board of Ethics, announced Aug. 18 that he will run for mayor of Brookhaven.
“I served as chairman of the DeKalb Board of Ethics over the past few years, helping to clean up the county,” Ernst, a Lynwood Park resident, wrote in an announcement email. “Now it’s time to serve the area I’ve called home my entire life.”
His campaign website is at votejohnernst.com.
Incumbent Mayor Rebecca Chase Williams said she has “not yet announced” whether she will run. She declined to comment on Ernst’s candidacy.
