Chick-fil-A’s newest location in Dunwoody opens Wednesday at 4350 Ashford-Dunwoody Road, but get in line for the giveaway starting at 6 a.m. Tuesday.

Operator Alex Rodriguez has been the Perimeter area face of Chick-fil-A for the past 20 years with his Perimeter Pointe location on Mount Vernon Highway and the Perimeter Mall location, which he is transferring from to run the free-standing location right outside the mall.

The chain “First 100” promotion takes place a day before the grand opening. If more than 100 people are onsite by Tuesday at 6 a.m., the First 100 spots will be determined by a drawing. The corporate website says arriving early does not increase a person’s chances of winning.

As is the chain’s custom, the first 100 people in line who qualify get a free meal each week for a year. The official rules say visitors may use their U.S. Government-issued ID, a recent bill or a bank statement to prove residency and students attending college in the eligible ZIP codes may bring a current, valid student ID to establish eligibility for the “First 100” promotion.

Rodriguez also plans to collect books for a nearly three-foot-high book house that he will donate to the Dunwoody Big Brothers, Big Sisters organization. The restaurant will collect books between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Tuesday, and during regular business hours Sept. 3 and 4.
