Vice President Joe Biden will speak tonight at a public event at Buckhead’s Ahavath Achim Synagogue.
Biden’s speech is part of the synagogue’s annual Eizenstat Lecture, with this year’s theme on “Challenges Facing the World and the U.S. in the 21st Century.” According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Biden is expected to speak about President Barack Obama’s nuclear deal with Iran. The appearance also will be closely watched for signs of Biden’s rumored 2016 presidential candidacy.
Biden’s speech begins at 7:30 p.m. and is open to the public on a first come, first served basis. RSVPs are requested through the synagogue’s website at aasynagogue.org, where the speech also will be streamed live for home viewing. The synagogue is located at 600 Peachtree Battle Ave. and does not have parking, but shuttle services will be available from various other area locations.
