The Brookhaven Police Department will combine its monthly Coffee with a Cop meet and greet Sept. 17 from 10 to 11 a.m. with a
grand opening for its new substation at the Villa Sonoma Condominiums.

“Come see our new substation and have the opportunity to meet your Brookhaven Police to discuss issues, share ideas and find solutions together,” Officer Howard Miller said.

The ribbon-cutting takes place at 10 Perimeter Summit Boulevard and will include free coffee and doughnuts.

Police Chief Gary Yandura said the new substation will provide officers and residents with a place to meet and complete reports on the north side of town. Police headquarters is located at 2665 Buford Highway on the southern end of the city.

While the substation will not be manned 24 hours, an outside emergency call box will give residents the means of placing a 911 call.
