The playground at Ashford Park in Brookhaven is scheduled to close Monday, Oct. 12, and remain closed for about three weeks so new playground equipment can be installed, the city said in a press release.

The activity building and tennis courts at Ashford Park will remain open, the city said.

“We are extremely excited to proceed with the installation of the new state-of-the-art playground equipment for Ashford Park,” said Gary Schussler of the Brookhaven Parks & Recreation Department.

The new equipment includes additional swings, slides, activity panels, incorporated shade structures and free-standing elements, Schussler said.
