Brookhaven police seek a person of interest after a man was shot and killed outside an apartment complex on Buford Highway.

A man was pronounced dead from a gunshot wound at an apartment complex on Buford Highway at about 3 p.m. Nov. 28, police say.

Nicolas Morales Garcia, 20, was shot and later pronounced dead at the scene.

Brookhaven’s Major Brandon Gurley said in a press release that officers responded to multiple 911 calls of a person shot at Esquire Apartments in the 3100 block of Buford Highway. When officers arrived, they found the man shot and tried to revive him.

When the officers’ attempts to revive the man proved unsuccessful, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Based on witness statements, a forensic sketch artist from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation rendered a drawing showing a person of interest. Investigators are attempting to identify this man and speak to him about the incident.
