If you’re looking for decorating inspiration or just like the idea of wandering through some beautifully decked out homes, Intown has an array of tours on tap this month.
Home for the Holidays
The annul home tour began in mid-November and continues through Dec. 13, benefitting the Southeastern Horticultural Society’s Children’s Learning Garden and Farms. This year’s show house is Mildwood Manor, 1150 Garmon Road, which has been decorated by some of the city’s most noted interior designers. The home is open for tours Thursdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sundays from 1 to 4 p.m. Tickets are $30. For more information visit, atlantaholidayhome.com.
Peachtree Garden Club Christmas Home Tour
The 2014 tour will feature four distinctive Buckhead homes on Dec. 10 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This year’s homes are located on Brookwood Drive, Pinestream Road, West Andrews Drive and Woodhaven Road. Tickets are $25 in advance at peachtreegardenclub.org or $30 the day of the event.
Grant Park Candlelight Tour of Homes
The 35th annual tour will feature a variety of homes in this historic neighborhood on Dec. 12-13 from 6 to 10 p.m. There will also be other events happening that weekend in conjunction with the tour, including the annual Winter Wonderland, which includes activities and games for kids and the chance to meet Santa, and the Artist’s Market at St. Paul United Methodist Church featuring unique, handcrafted gifts. There will also be a concert featuring the St. Paul United Methodist Choir in the church’s sanctuary. Tickets are $20 or $30 for VIP, which includes a wine tasting. Virginia-Highland Tour of Homes
Tour the beautiful neighborhood of Virginia-Highland during their 21st annual Virginia-Highland Tour of Homes on Dec. 5 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Dec. 6 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event will include food tastings from local restaurants including Fontaine’s Oyster House, Highland Tap and many more. Avondale Estates Tour of Homes & Holiday Market
The Avondale Estates Tour of Homes and Holiday Market will be held on Dec. 13 from 3 to 8 p.m. (the market is open noon to 6 p.m. at 58 Lakeshore Drive). This year’s tour spans almost 90 years beginning with an Avondale “original” built when the city was established in 1926, a recently renovated 50s bungalow, three newer homes and a new “Back Porch” recently added to one of the 40s bungalows.
