Khalid Bashir and the congregation of Muslims at Masjid Uthman Dunwoody announced on Facebook they are looking for a permanent home in the heart of Dunwoody.

“We are in the process of securing a permanent place, have few options but haven’t finalized it yet,” Bashir said. “The Facebook and website implies that but we are far from having made a final decision.”

The members of the masjid are raising money with the hope to move to “two blocks from the current location,” the Facebook post says. Currently, the masjid is located at 1707 Mount Vernon Road in Dunwoody. They opened at that location in May 2014 and their lease is up in May 2016, Bashir said.

The entire Facebook post says:

Assalamualaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu! We are excited to announce that we have found a permanent location for the Masjid. It is located in the heart of Dunwoody GA. Our lease at the current location is going to end May 2016 and we have to move to a permanent location two blocks from current location. May Allah S.W.T make this move easy and give Barakah in the new location. Allah S.W.T out of HIS infinite mercy has bestowed upon us opportunity to be part of this historic event of being part of building a Masjid which is going to serve generations to come.
Goal:
Reach out to 65,000 people around the US, the money for the new masjid can be raised in no time InshaaAllah ( $20 x 65,000= $1.3 million)
