Controlled blasting will take place at the City Springs construction site starting Dec. 16 and run for four to six weeks, according to the city.

Two to four blasts per day are possible and are slated to happen between 3 to 4 p.m. Traffic will be stopped briefly during the blasts on Sandy Springs Circle and the western section of Johnson Ferry Road.

The blasts will be “very short and not very loud,” said city spokeswoman Sharon Kraun.

City Springs is the city’s new mixed-use project under construction on a 15-acre site on Roswell Road at Johnson Ferry and Mount Vernon Highway.
