Someone followed a man from his bank to a food store in the 3000 block of Buford Highway in Brookhaven, police say.

Major Brandon Gurley, a spokesman for the department, said three men then tried to steak his car.

“Within seconds of parking his vehicle, at least three suspects in a maroon or burgundy, four-door Dodge Ram Pickup Truck blocked his vehicle in,” Gurley said in a press release.

A man wearing a black T-shirt and khaki pants then entered the man’s car, stealing the cash from inside, Gurley said. Another man, in a burgundy hoody, then entered the food store, acting as a lookout while the first man attempted to steal the victim’s car.

The suspect in the black shirt rejoined an unidentified offender(s) in the pickup truck and fled north on Buford Highway, while the suspect in the burgundy hoody fled on foot on Curtis Drive toward North Druid Hills Road.
