Alfredo’s Italian Restaurant, a landmark on Cheshire Bridge Road for more than 40 years, will close later this year, according to a report at AJC. The restaurant will be demolished to make room for a mixed-use development.

According to a report at Tomorrow’s News Today, the restaurant owners were told that the lease on the freestanding building would not be renewed.  Along with the Alfredo’s property, the land where Enat Ethiopia Restaurant, Ghezai Auto Repair and a Georgia Department of Transportation Maintenance facility were also sold to make way for a mixed-use development.

A closing date for Alfredo’s has not been announced.

  1. Along with the loss of the Georgia Shakespeare Festival at Conant Center and the loss of the Garden Hills Cinema, the loss of Alfredo’s Restaurant is yet another painful indication of a loss of a way of life. What’s next?

  3. A huge condo building is not what that area means, but you know that’s what will go there. Cheshire is going to turn into a mess, traffic-wise.

  5. This is horrible. So sad. My husband grew up going there and that is where we got engaged 20 years ago. And now we bring our kids there. Its such a shame. I so hope they relocate.
