The city of Sandy Springs has launched a new online database where people can view building permits, check on code enforcement requests, and see the status of such land-use changes as zoning variance requests.

The new system, at, allows searches by permit type, date, address, permit number and project name. It also allows builders to request an inspection by registering an account. No registration is required for looking up existing information.

The system also has a mobile application that will allow city inspectors to manage inspection filings online, which the city says will reduce travel costs and paperwork.

“This new program will streamline the permit workflow process and make it easier to do business in Sandy Springs,” said Chris McCrary, the city’s manager of Building and Land Development, in a press release. “Contractors and developers will be able to manage multiple permits and view status history in one convenient online location.”
