Parents overwhelmingly voted Feb. 5 to approve Peachtree Middle School’s charter renewal, with 572 voting in favor, three voting against and one vote invalidated.
This was the third vote on the charter renewal. A vote in August did not attract enough parents and a vote last month came under scrutiny when a parent questioned the voting procedure.
DeKalb County School District officials were on hand for the Feb. 5 vote. Staff with the DeKalb School District may be processing the Peachtree Middle renewal petition in March, according to a spokesperson.
The petition renewal is good for five years. The school is located in Dunwoody.
