The city of Brookhaven has the lowest unemployment rate in the state, according to preliminary December 2015 numbers released by the Georgia Department of Labor.
Brookhaven’s unemployment rate came in at 2.3 percent. The city with the next lowest unemployment rate is Peachtree Corners at 2.7 percent.
Dunwoody’s unemployment rate according to preliminary December 2015 numbers is 3.6 percent and Sandy Springs comes in at 3.9 percent, according to the state Department of Labor.
East Point has the highest unemployment rate at 7.4 percent.
The state’s unemployment rate is 5.5 percent while the national unemployment rate is 5 percent; these numbers reflect seasonally adjusted rates.
