A man who allegedly used his cell phone to take pictures up a woman’s skirt at a Brookhaven Publix has been arrested.

John Sinclair, 29, was arrested Feb. 29 after he turned himself into authorities, according to a Facebook post by the Brookhaven Police Department.

Sinclair faces a felony peeping Tom charge, according to police.

“Detectives began receiving tips shortly after this suspect’s picture was released on social media and through news outlets. Detectives worked quickly to identify this suspect and was able to secure a warrant for Sinclair’s arrest on February 27. Detectives have been working since the 27th to coordinate his surrender,” according to the Facebook post.

“This case reflects the partnership between the residents of our community and our police department,” said Interim Police Chief Juan Grullon. “Without their help and their desire to keep Brookhaven safe, this case could have remained unsolved.”

“During the incident, the suspect followed the victim around the store attempting to start a conversation with her. While the victim waited in line to check out, she was approached by the suspect again and without her knowledge took several photos with his camera phone under the victim’s skirt,” the Brookhaven police press release stated.
