Former DeKalb County Commissioner Elaine Boyer, imprisoned last year for corruption, has been released early from her 14-month sentence, according to ajc.com.
Elaine Boyer pleaded guilty in 2014 to spending taxpayer funds on personal expenses. Her husband, John Boyer, remains in federal prison for his role in a kickback scheme that funneled taxpayer funds to the Boyers. Another alleged participant in that scheme, evangelist Rooks Boynton, is awaiting trial, according to ajc.com.
