Mmmmmm … doughnuts!

“National Doughnut Day” rapidly approaches — it’s Friday, June 3 — and the Dunwoody Police Department wants to celebrate with everyone while also raising money for a great cause.

The Dunwoody PD and other metro Atlanta law enforcement agencies are teaming up with Dunkin Donuts for the first annual “Cops on Donut Shops” event to raise money for the athletes of Special Olympics Georgia. Officers will be standing on the roofs of 139 Dunkin Donut shops throughout Georgia from 5 a.m. to 11 a.m. on June 3 — in Dunwoody, officers will be on top of the shop at 1594 Mount Vernon Road.

Customers who come in and buy a beverage will receive a free doughnut and contributions will be accepted. One hundred percent of all donations will go to the Special Olympics Georgia.
