If you don’t have time to hit the beach this summer, head to downtown Decatur instead. The Decatur Beach Party returns Friday, June 17, from 5 to 11 p.m.

Sixty tons of sand will be trucked in to transform Ponce de Leon Avenue into a beachfront with a kid’s boardwalk, live music and dancing on the plaza, a food court with funnel cakes and fruity drinks. The music will be courtesy of Tray Dahl & The Jugtime Ragland and headliner Electric Avenue.

Tickets are $12 in advance at TicketAlternative.com, Freshtix.com and local Decatur retail shops or $15 at the gate. Children ages 4-12 years old are $7 in advance, and $10 at the gate. Children 3 and under are free. All children’s activities are included in the admission price.

For more information visit decaturdba.com, facebook.com/decbeachparty, or call (678) 553-6573.

The Decatur Business Association produces the Decatur Beach Party as an annual fundraiser. Proceeds from this event help to fund other free community events including Concerts on the Square, Blue Sky Concerts, Easter Egg Hunt, and the Bonfire & Marshmallow Roast.
