The Georgia Association of Water Professionals recognized the city of Dunwoody and Stormwater Manager David Elliott for their ongoing work in stormwater management.
Elliott accepted on behalf of the city the 2016 Stormwater Management Program Award from Katherine Atteberry at the June 13 City Council meeting. Atteberry is the president of the Georgia Chapter of the American Water Resources Association Group.
The national nonprofit organization educates and provides professional development and promotes public policy in the water resources and related environmental fields, according to its website.
Atteberry praised the city and Elliott mapping and inspections of stormwater drains since 2012 that have resulted in needed repairs and quality stormwater treatment, saying the city has gone “above and beyond” in its duty.
