Piedmont Healthcare and Clinics have failed to reach a deal with insurance carrier United Healthcare, putting plan members out of network. Patients who have healthcare insurance through United may to have to pay more out-of-pocket costs to use Piedmont Hospital and its subsidiaries. The failed negations do not effect patients who use Medicare, Medicare Supplemental or Medicare Advantage plans, according to a report at CBS46.

WSBTV reports that high levels of lead were found in the drinking water at 30 Atlanta Public Schools, including Inman Middle School in Virginia-Highland. APS is flushing those lines and shut off sinks and water fountains while it corrects the problem.

Effective today, The Wylde Center has taken over the management of Mulberry Fields Community Garden and Greenspace.  The garden will be the fifth greenspace overseen by the Wylde Center, whose staff and volunteers will manage all aspects of the community garden including maintenance, field trips, garden plot rentals and special events. The Garden will be re-named Wylde Center-Mulberry Fields Garden. The community will celebrate this next phase of the garden’s growth with a fun, free, family event, “Mulberry Fields Gone Wylde” on Saturday, July 16, from 5-10 p.m. The event will feature live music, local beers and beverages, food from nearby establishments, face-painting and games for the kids.
