Protests against the police shootings of black men in Louisiana and Minnesota last week continued Saturday night and into Sunday as demonstrators marched from Midtown into the Old Fourth Ward.

The protest began just after 6 p.m. on the 17th Street bridge with an estimated 100 marchers then headed down Peachtree Street through Midtown and into Downtown with Atlanta Police following closely behind.

Just before 11 p.m., protestors reached Edgewood Avenue and attempted to once again get on the Downtown Connector to block traffic. A heavy Georgia State Patrol presence prevented that, but also increased tension between officers and protestors. Local TV news and social media showed at least 10 arrests being made as protestors attempted to get on the interstate. Local law enforcement confirmed Sunday that 11 had been arrested.

Earlier on Saturday, a small group of demonstrators also marched through Lenox Square in Buckhead.
