Dad’s Garage Theatre is presenting the improv soap opera “Scandal” every Saturday night through Aug. 20. “Scandal” is set at a fictitious shopping mall in the Old Fourth Ward that’s on its last legs and its wacky denizens. As media sponsor for the event, INtown is posting a recap of the Saturday episodes.

As we began week 7, Lark Darkcastle had summoned Lil’ Daisy back to his dojo to urge her to use restraint with her newfound killing powers. Lil’ Daisy responded by lifting up Lark by his shirt and dragging him across the room.

Rosemary Splat visited Oral Hanks to find out what happened on their date the previous evening, since she blacked out. After finding out that Oral had dug out her brain tumor with a spoon because he thought it was crème brulee, Oral then asked Rosemary to do him a favor in return for a second date – seduce Agent Hammer.

Orange Julius and Agent Hammer were working on the music playlist for Hammer’s wedding, and Hammer would not agree to OJ’s desire to play “The Monster Mash” at the reception. Just then, a hideous apparition appeared before Julius, and he was scared speechless. Hammer generously relented and told him to stick the song in there anywhere.

Jelilah visited The Commodore to show him that after only three weeks, she was sporting a HUGE baby bump. She also needed support and help while pregnant, and needed a “real relationship” from The Commodore. They then made plans to meet in the back of the store at 8 p.m. to “consummate” things.

Jelilah then went to Spencer’s Gifts to find some items to make her evening with The Commodore even spicier. Lark Darkcastle was there and gave Jelilah a black light ultrasound that discovered something terrifying… Jelilah’s baby may be part CHUD!

Orange Julius was walking through the Mall, feeling like he was being watched. Suddenly the horrific apparition from earlier leapt into his path… it was Louisiana Voodoo Priestess Madame Swampass! She revealed that she was Agent Hammer’s first and still current wife, and she was here to throw him a surprise party. She then tried to hypnotize Julius, but he misunderstood her pigeon English and thought he had been ordered to “take an eternal number two.”

Madame Swampass then visited Oral’s store, looking for party favors. Oral realized that she had no idea of Hammer’s recent engagement. He asked her if she wanted to know a big secret about her husband, to which she replied, “No, I wanna draw it out a lot longer.”

Lil’ Daisy was walking through the mall when she passed by the restrooms, where Orange Julius had the door open, in the midst of his eternal number two. He pleaded with her to bring him some toilet paper, but instead she ran away.

Rosemary visited Lark to get some tips on seducing Agent Hammer to secure her second date with Oral Hanks. Larks #1 tip to ensure that Hammer would not be able to resist – “Use your dance moves.”

Madame Swampass visited Jelilah to get some snacks for the surprise party. However, her voodoo sense began to tingle and she stated that she could feel evil within Jelilah’s unborn child. She then placed a hex upon Jelilah, so that she would never give birth and her child would grow to full size in her womb.

Lark was conducting another black light ultrasound, this time on Orange Julius. Instead of the ultrasound taking place on the abdomen, it had to be performed from the opposite side, which Lark was not happy about at all.

Jelilah was in the back storage room with the lights down low, awaiting her romantic encounter with The Commodore. Unexpectedly, Oral Hanks broke into the room seeking to “steal some stuff.” In the dark, Jelilah assumed Oral was The Commodore and urged him to “do what you want with my body.” Oral did as he was told, but just then The Commodore entered, turned on the light and saw everything!

Rosemary cornered Agent Hammer and began to use her dance moves to entice him, and lured him into the storeroom where things started to get steamy. Just then the lights flew on and Madame Swampass, Orange Julius, Lark and Lil’ Daisy all yelled, “surprise!” for Hammer’s party. But the surprise was not the one that had been planned…
