Dunwoody police arrested 15 individuals involved in commercial sex trafficking during a recent undercover operation.

Three people were arrested Aug. 25 for pimping and 12 people arrested for prostitution, including one person identified as a victim of sex trafficking, according to a press release.

“The goal of operations such as these is to first and foremost rescue any children or young adults who are victims of sex trafficking. We also want to remove those profiting from commercial sex trafficking by putting them in jail,” said Chief Billy Grogan in a statement.

The Dunwoody Police Department in conjunction with the FBI Metro Atlanta Child Exploitation Task Force and the DeKalb Anti-Trafficking and Exploitation Task Force conducted the undercover operation Aug. 25 at a local cooperating hotel. Which hotel was not released by police.

“This operation would not have been possible without the close working relationship the Dunwoody Police Department has with the business and hotel community,” states the press release.

A similar operation in March resulted in 11 arrests.
