If you’re traveling on the Downtown Connector in the evening, you might have noticed the giant, illuminated PEACHTREE sign on the bridge spanning the city’s most famous street. Central Atlanta Progress said the installation of the letters is part of an ongoing effort to makeover the city’s bridges. Pedestrians crossing Peachtree won’t just see the back of the letters; there are images of the city’s iconic buildings and attractions etched into the sign as well.

The 2016 Atlanta Bike Challenge has begun and encourages residents to bike to work through Oct. 23.  The Challenge enlists regional employers to join as teams and encourage participation among employees. Organizations compete against each other not to ride further, but to recruit the most riders. In past years, the Challenge has drawn participation from more than 350 metro Atlanta businesses of all sizes. For more information and to register, visit atlbikechallenge.com.
