The Fox Theatre has revealed renderings and the official name of its new premium space, which will be located in the old Churchill Grounds jazz club.
The Marquee Club, slated to open Fall 2017, will be the most significant expansion of The Fox since its opening in 1929, according to a media release. The renovation will total 10,000 square-feet of event space, including nearly 4,000 square-feet of rooftop terrace. Guests will have the opportunity to enjoy enhanced food and beverage service at five bars, as well as passed and displayed hors d’oeuvres.
The terrace will include a combination of indoor, solarium and outdoor spaces for climate-controlled, cooled or fully outdoor spaces.
“When you think of the Fox Theatre, you immediately envision our legendary twinkling marquee. Standing the test of time, the Fox Theatre marquee is a beacon for patrons of the performing arts and a signifier of nearly a decade of memories,” said Allan C. Vella, Fox Theatre president and CEO. “When we were brainstorming the name, we kept circling back to that one image that holds a special place in the heart of Atlantans – the marquee. Soon after, the Marquee Club became official.”
Guests will be able to enter the club before and after events, as well as during intermission. Additional amenities will include priority pre-sale ticketing notifications, access to private restrooms, concierge guest services, and self-parking access to an adjacent lot. At intermission, guests will have access to pre-ordered drinks, dessert and coffee offerings, as well as dedicated lobby elevator.
Admission to the Marquee Club will be available through annual membership holders, as well as ticket upgrades at specific performances as inventory permits. Details, including rates, memberships and ticket upgrades are in early planning stages and will available to purchase beginning in January 2017.
