The Reading Circle at Piedmont Park.

The Piedmont Park Conservancy has just finished the installation of the park’s new Reading Circle, which was funded by the Midtown Atlanta Rotary Club. The reading circle offers book lovers and families a quaint space containing 27 bench-like stones surrounding a Red Oak tree. The position next to the 12th street entrance allows for easy access for local residents as well as small children who might not be able to trek the entire park.

“The Midtown Rotary Club has partnered with the Conservancy for smaller projects like planting trees and shrubs. Yet, we wanted a legacy project through the Conservancy. We fell in love with the idea of a place for children to engage in free play and where people could read to them,” said Sophie Mason, Past President and Raffle Co-Chair for the legacy project. “Really, it is a place for everyone to enjoy.”

The Reading Circle is now open for public use.
