The annual Light up Dunwoody event sponsored by the Dunwoody Homeowners Association will be Sunday, Nov. 20, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Cheek Spruill Farm House.

Light Up Dunwoody is set for Nov. 20.

The community event includes a Christmas Village opening at 3 p.m. and concludes with the lighting of the Christmas tree at approximately 5:45 p.m., according to a press release.

Santa will be on hand to listen to children’s wishes and a Santa sleigh with reindeer will on site for photo opportunities.

Last year, controversy arose when the DHA requested the nonprofit Dunwoody Preservation Trust, which owns the Cheek Spruill Farm House, to also include a six-foot menorah on the farm house site for the event. The Dunwoody Preservation Trust denied the request and stated the event was intended to be a secular one, with no religious effects. A small menorah has been displayed in a window of the farmhouse for the past several years.
