Brookhaven’s annual Light Up Brookhaven event is slated for Dec. 8 at Blackburn Park and promises holiday cheer with a Christmas tree lighting, a visit from Santa, a Hanukkah display lighting and plenty of hot chocolate.

The free event will be from 6 to 8 p.m. and also includes the announcement of a wreath contest. Those wanting to show off their DIY holiday skills are asked to drop off their entries between Dec. 1 – 3 and the Briarwood Community Center. The winning wreath will be displayed at City Hall.
