Annexing a residential area on Woodcliff Drive and near the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Office Park in Brookhaven would have little effect on the city’s ability to deliver services, according to a report from the city manager.

The report by City Manager Christian Sigman states that there would be no need to hire new police officers to cover the area that includes five residential properties along Woodcliff Drive and Briarcliff Road in unincorporated DeKalb County and would take over the right-of-way on Woodcliff Drive.

The annexation petition was submitted by residents living in the Executive Park Townhomes on Woodcliff Drive and also residents living in the Executive Park Apartments on Briarcliff Road, the Executive Park Condominiums on Executive Park Lane and two single-family homes at 1705 and 1721 Woodcliff Drive N.E. The total annexation area is approximately 19 acres and includes nearly 200 people.

The Planning Commission is slated to consider the rezoning of the property at its Dec. 7 meeting. The City Council is slated to consider the annexation at its Dec. 13 meeting.
