During the in-store shopping event,  children are paired with police officers and other public safety professionals who will help in picking out holiday gifts for the kids’ families, said Officer Carlos Nino in a press release.

The participating children were referred to the program with the assistance of the Brookhaven Boys and Girls Club.

Proceeds from the police department’s annual “Hot Pursuit” 5K are used to fund the “Shop with a Badge” Christmas program.

The Brookhaven Police Department, Chattahoochee River 9-1-1 Authority, Target Store Team Leader and Ziggy Asfaw from the Boy’s and Girl’s Club will be available to provide brief remarks during the in-store shopping event.
