The Committee on Council and Finance/Executive Committee of the Atlanta City Council will hold a joint work session regarding proposed Ordinance 15-O-1585, public access to city financial expenditures and 15-R-4504, public access to city council financial expenditures on Thursday, Dec. 8, at 4 p.m. in Committee Room No. 1, Atlanta City Hall, 55 Trinity Ave. In an effort to ensure the transparency of all financial expenditures incurred by the city, the Atlanta City Council is considering the aforementioned legislation which would allow the public to access to the city’s financial records and information. The meeting is open to the public and public comment.
WorkSource Atlanta and the Atlanta Fulton County Recreation Authority will host a Turner Field Community Hiring Fair on Thursday, Dec. 8, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at FanPlex, 768 Hank Aaron Drive. Priority will be given to former Turner Field employees, but the hiring fair is open to any City of Atlanta resident. Job seekers can apply for entry to mid-level opportunities in construction, hospitality and tourism, security, transportation, and warehouse and delivery. The City of Atlanta has invested more than $350,000 in technological enhancements to the Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) program at the Operation Shield Video Integration Center (VIC), funded by the Renew Atlanta infrastructure bond program, according to a press release. The VIC integrates approximately 7,500 publicly and privately owned cameras which increases the Atlanta Police Department’s coverage of the city streets, using state-of-the-art analytical software. The new technology enhancements enable the CCTV system to transmit video feeds from 128 different camera locations and share information with other city of Atlanta facilities, including the Joint Operation Center.
