Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Downtown will host its first event tomorrow, Aug. 26, as the Atlanta Falcons play a preseason game against the Arizona Cardinals. If you’re headed for the game or need to be Downtown near the new stadium, leave plenty of extra time for your journey because traffic is expected to be heavy.

Gates will open will be open two hours prior to the start of the game, which begins at 7 p.m. The city is encouraging fans to use the Park Mobile app to find a parking spot near the stadium, but the way to go is MARTA.

MARTA officials encouraged riders to make sure they’ve upgraded to the new silver Breeze cards (the blue ones are no longer accepted) and to purchase a roundtrip ticket to avoid waiting in line after the game ends. Fans should use the Dome/GWCC/Philips Arena/CNN station to get to Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Mercedes-Benz Stadium has released a Game Day Guide on its website to help fans navigate the venue, parking, its clear bag policy, food and beverage options and more.
