MARTA will resume limited bus, paratransit and rail services on Tuesday, Sept. 12, beginning at 7 a.m. As weather conditions improve, all MARTA service will increase systemwide, the agency announced late Monday.

“By delaying the start of our service time, we are able to avoid the brunt of the severe conditions caused by Tropical Storm Irma. We anticipate resuming full bus and train service by midday,” said MARTA GM/CEO Keith Parker. “We will continue to monitor the weather conditions, evaluate our access to roadways and adjust our operations as needed.”

On Monday, MARTA’s rail operations team worked to clear debris and perform track maintenance while service was suspended. Beginning Tuesday morning, bus and rail supervisors will arrive early to reassess all routes and perform a thorough safety check of all buses, trains and MARTA facilities.

MARTA customers are encouraged visit the MARTA website (www.itsmarta.com) or call customer service at 404-848-5000 for updates regarding Tuesday’s service plans.
