The controversial Confederate monument outside the old DeKalb County Courthouse in downtown Decatur will be removed, but county leaders don’t know where to put it yet, according to a report from CBS46. The DeKalb County Board of Commissioners voted last week to remove the the statue – viewed by many as a racist reminder of the Jim Crow era  – and said it would seek input from the public on where the obelisk should go.

The Atlanta Business Chronicle reports that the Georgia Aquarium in Downtown will begin an expansion project this fall. Details on the expansion have not bee released but it will mean redirecting people from the main entrance to access the attraction from Pemberton Place across from the World of Coca-Cola.
